The Visiting Innovators Program at CITRIS Foundry enables global innovators, students, tech entrepreneurs, scientists, and researchers to embed themselves within the CITRIS Foundry for a period of 4-12 months, join our broad community and participate in our programs and activities.
Participants will enjoy all of what the CITRIS Foundry has to offer, will have access to selected UC Berkeley’s resources and services while being hosted at the Foundry, and will be able to connect to Silicon Valley’s vast networks and resources.
This immersive program develops the participants innovation mindset, innovation potential, and practical skills to move technology into market to create value and impact.
The Visiting Innovators will be embedded within the concurrent core Incubator Program. Participants can choose to join the cohort as independent teams with their own ideas/technologies, or to join existing Foundry cohort teams with whom they share common interests and goals.
To be eligible, applicants must be sponsored by their institutions or governments. CITRIS Foundry has established partnerships with a number of global organizations to sponsor visiting innovators.
Off-campus housing will be paid by the visiting innovators or their sponsoring institute. Foundry staff will provide advice and assistance in locating and securing appropriate accommodations.
Legal entry to the United States in required and the Foundry will help support in securing the necessary J-1 Visa. Innovators will be provided with an @berkeley.edu email address, an affiliate ID card, and access to the SDH building.
