KNOX Medical Diagnostics is working to detect early signs of asthma attacks using their novel, high-performing, portable spirometer and mobile app interface. This remote-monitoring system measures asthma severity between clinic visits so physicians can develop a personalized action plan for recommending medication adjustments in real time, helping to keep patients’ condition under control. Knox was successfully tested with 167 people in a clinical trial at UCSF, filed their FDA pre-submission in January 2017, and is field-testing their engaging user interface with asthma patients.
